The Strawberry Park Group was incorporated in 1972. The Group maintains a Board of Directors charged with helping Park residents ensure the continuation and respect of established traditions and characteristics of Strawberry Park. Strawberry Park is largely a valley situated just north of Steamboat Springs. The area consists largely of single family residences, many of them involved in ranching operations. These are co-mingled with educational and recreational facilities. Commercial enterprises are the exception. These traditions and characteristics include:

  1. The belief that the residents and landowners of Strawberry Park have the right and duty to participate in shaping the future of the Park, to ensure protection of the existing natural resources for the continued use and enjoyment of Park residents and considerate visitors.
  2. The belief that ranching, farming, general agriculture and other types of open space should be consistent with wildlife, recreational, aesthetic and water quality considerations.
  3. The belief that the development in the Park should be limited to a modest number of man-made structures, predominantly comprised of single-family residences, educational facilities and accessory structures. The residences should have a high incidence of consistent residency, as most Park landowners traditionally have occupied and maintained their own land.
  4. The belief that continued maintenance and operation of the mix of existing traditional, educational, recreational, and home occupation interests and land use ventures, dating from the initial settlement of the park area, should continue. These are exemplified by the Perry Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp, Whiteman School, the Strawberry Park Hot Springs, Euzoa Bible Church and Elkstone Farm.
  5. The belief that the above can best be achieved by limiting commercial development, and limiting development to a modest number of county and private roads and rights of way maintained primarily for resident, educational, and moderate visitor use.
